- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I was driving home from a business trip to Atlanta on highway I16 at approx 2115 there was a truck on the shoulder lane and I was in the left lane and few cars and trucks on my left side I tried to avoid a huge object that the 18 wheeler dropped from his 18 wheeler which was a drive shaft I tried by avoiding a chain reaction with all the cars that were beside on the right side and by driving over the drive shaft it disabled my car which is a 2012 Nissan GTR. The fire dept and the sheriff dept responded to assist me and the stranded 18 wheeler in the middle of no where. Who I really want to thank very much is a deputy who waited on me until my tow truck arrived all the way from Atlanta on the coldest day of the year that evening the temperature reached at 42 degrees Fahrenheit and having a car with no heat due to disabling damage to my car the deputy whose name John Degolyer went above and beyond to make sure I was safe and warm sitting in his car with the heat on while I waited for a tow truck which took over two in half hours to arrive. Deputy Degolyer thank you very much for your help and doing your job and keeping the public safe. Twiggs county is great in hiring there deputies.
